Sweet baby Kate's mommy, Lisa, came to me wanting to celebrate Kate's first birthday by holding a portrait session for her. Usually 1st birthday sessions are smash cake in the studio. Lisa, who is a pretty fantastic photographer herself, told me that she felt like she could handle doing smash cake at home and what she really wanted was to go on location for a more whimsical magical session for baby Kate. Of course this got me really, REALLY excited! So at her pre session consult we started to design her on location portrait session. When you call me ready to book your session, I recommend that you look at my images and show me which of them are your favorite at your consult. This way I can figure out your taste, and even help you decide which location works best. LIsa's favorite images of mine where pretty much all at the same location!
A couple of days after her pre-session consult we held her portrait session. We decided to hold a morning session due to tripple digit heat, but we lucked out and a random cold front blew threw and made it unseasonably cool! Kate is such a sweet baby! She has a very gentle,calm, wise spirit.. with a hint of silly =) Like most toddlers, Kate made me, and lisa really work hard at her session. She did not want to smile for the camera! The second I put the camera down, however she was all grins, that little stinker =) Passerby's probably thought we where nuts watching us sing, and dance, and clap and jump trying everything we could think of to get a smile out of Kate! I kept it a secret until Lisa's photo viewing session but I of course caputred Kates beautiful little smile. After the session was over, we were so sweaty but our hearts where happy!
