Best Season for outdoor portraits

For on location portraits, or portrait session that are being held outside, a common question I get asked is " when is the best time of year to hold my portrait session". This is a question I get asked for all genre's ( family portraits, high school senior portraits, women's beauty portraits etc.) The answer is, each season has its up and downs and I can literally create gorgeous portraits in every season.  Obviously there are some things unique to a season, like the changing colors in the leaves in the fall, and flowers in the spring, and your not going to want to take your portraits in water during the winter, or if you want to wear a heavy sweater then you probably don't want to have your portrait session in the summer.  But other then those very seasonal aspects my portraits are very consistent all year long. So my advice to my clients is go by timing. when do you want your portraits by? If you are a high school senior and you need your senior portraits by May then I recommend holding your portrait session no later February. For my Family portrait clients who want their portraits ready in time to send out Christmas Cards, and purchase Christmas Gifts I recommend holding their portrait session no later than September. For my clients who are not on a deadline as to when they need their albums, canvas's, prints ready then my advice to them is hold your portrait session at a time of year when life is a little less hectic.
